Just in case you doubt the weird, dual nature of Fort Delaware. I wonder if anyone cried when the Endicott stuff was added in the 1890's? Probably not in public, they didn't. But deep down, surely some of the old-timers, maybe the NCO's, must have died a little inside when so much brickwork was criminally covered in this fashion.
