Lumber, wood, trees. The town of Darien seems to think its history as a lumber-producing community is every bit as impressive as its history as a place where there's a cool fort. A tragically misguided notion, this results in plenty of sawblades and informational signs pointing out loads of ruins of lumber mills.

In case nobody's noticed yet, however, I loved palm trees, and took advantage of any opportunity to photograph one. This display appears just in front of Fort King George's information center, museum and gift shoppe.
