The inside of Fort Ligonier's northwestern bastion. How much of the original fort's walls were just a picket fence, as represented today by its western half, versus the full thick walls of today's eastern half? Granted, the entire fort was protected by the Retrenchment, plus there were Fascine Artillery Batteries sticking out of both sides of the fort during the French and Indian War.

Regardless, note the strategic sticks affixed to the picket wall's openings, affording just that much more protection to those crouching behind.
