Fort Billings, a little further down the Delaware on the New Jersey side. Fort Billings holds the distinction of being the first official land purchase of the US government: The land was purchased for government use on July 4, 1776. It also holds the distinction of being the only thing to even resemble a proper starfort for miles around. Fort Billings was rearmed during the War of 1812, but the British were no longer interested in Philadelphia, likely because the US capitol had been moved to Washington DC.
