Into Fort Pike's vestibule (yes I know that's not the correct military term) we go! Our fort was of course named for American Brigadier General Zebulon Pike (1779-1813), who explored the Louisiana Territory from 1805 to 1807. Zebulon is twice Starfort Royalty, as he was killed by an exploding starfort! On April 27, 1813, Pike & co. were approaching Fort York at what would become Toronto, Canada, to initiate negotiations for its surrender (or so they thought)...when its powder magazine was blown, taking Pike and 37 others up in smoke, and wounding another 222. Treacherous redcoats!
