Our final, and perhaps most alarming, visit with Fort Pike's starfort wildlife: Strolling along to the south of the fort, we were visited by this fleeing Speckled King Snake! It is non-venomous, and common in woodlands and semi-open habitats, such as marshes and the semi-extinct glacis of starforts. Fortunately, the Speckled King Snake isn't known to strike, so much as chew.
