Fort Pike positively bristled with guns by the end of the Civil War. The original 21 smoothbore guns were enhanced with another 19 guns, most of a more modern design, including one 8" Columbiad...is that what's represented before us? This of course isn't a real gun, but a replica, and it sure looks to this experienced eye like a Rodman Gun. Rodmans were often referred to as Columbiads, so might Fort Pike's 8" gun have been a Rodman?
