AND we've finally found our way out of the maze that is the fort's ditch. That's the southwest bastion on the left, the western ravelin on the right. And artillery ahead, keeping a careful watch over the New York/Vermont border!

Just around the corner is a plaque regarding Michel Marquis de Chartier de Lotbinière, who was the engineer responsible for the construction of Fort Carillon...at least that's what I think it's about, it's in French!! Click here to see it & be outraged along with me.
