One of Fort Ticonderoga's three interior buildings, which likely has a name but I'll call it the western barracks, is fully modernized and most importantly for August, air conditioned. On its upper floor is The Laboratory, a delightful hands-on exhibit concerning artillery. There is a Design Me! station, at which 3D-printed cannon pieces can be assembled; a Load Me! station, at which powder, wadding and shot can be loaded into the cross-section of a cannon; the Lift Me! station that we see here, which has a working Casemate Gin, for anyone who doesn't get the concept of the pulley; and a Shoot Me! semi-pachinko game, in which marble "cannonballs" are rolled at a starfort with surrounding earthworks.
