An antiaircraft gun sitting behind Fort Mott's little museum, which is jam-packed with stuff and a little weird. Fort Mott was fully manned from 1901 to 1922, after which is only had a caretaker staff. The fort was officially closed in 1943, but antiaircraft guns were most likely thought absolutely necessary for Fort Mott at the start of the Second World War, in order to defend against imagined German naval aviation launching from the aircraft carrier that they didn't have.
